Furniture Details

Mitered Corners are used throughout our furniture. This
process enhances the natural beauty of the wood, giving the
appearance of one continuous log. This process is very
difficult to master, but the results are worth it. Our mitered
corners are found on the massive log trim on top of our
armoires, entertainment centers, ottomans and more. Careful
attention to detail ensures that the corners fit tightly.

Attention to detail. We hand select the best logs with the
most color and character to be used on our trim. The example
pictured to the right shows that the 45 degree corner was cut
using the same log, making sure that the natural character was
not compromised. These are the details that separate us from our
competitors.

Drawer details. Seven layer birch plywood with glued
dovetail drawers and the finest quality hardware such as ball
bearing full extension drawer glides ensure many years of
trouble free use. The materials, hardware and additional labor
could be cut by more than 75% to increase our profits but your
furniture deserves the best.
 Shelves
are built using blind fastening techniques and beautiful log
trim. When shopping around for log furniture, look carefully
at the methods used to attach shelves. They should be part of
the furniture and not just slapped on, appearing to be an after
thought.

Little details such as the wine glass racks on our bars,
built-in desks in the kid's “fort bunk bed,” choice wood on our
custom glider rockers and more will assure that you have the
finest custom log furniture available. We made a decision a
long time ago to avoid cutting corners and using less expensive
hardware and materials to lower our costs. We hope that you
will see the difference in our details.

Our beds are hand crafted using carefully selected wood
that is sized correctly and matched up to provide symmetry to
the final product. We use large lag bolts instead of small wood
screws. Large 2 ˝” diameter log end caps are used instead of
unsightly wood plugs. This small detail gives our beds the
appearance that the horizontal logs go right through the posts
and allows the customer to tighten the lag bolts should the wood
shrink over the years.
